- Rough dimensions — width, length and ceiling height. Paces are fine to start with.
- Two photographs taken from opposite corners, so we can see the whole room.
- Which way the door swings, and whether the window opens inwards.
- What is underneath — is the bathroom over a room you would rather not have water in?
- What you want to change, in plain words. "The shower is useless and there is nowhere to put anything" is a perfectly good brief.
None of it is compulsory. It just means the first conversation can be about your bathroom rather than about measurements.
