A design-led bathroom is not a trade you call out — it is a project somebody has to run. That puts a natural limit on how far we sensibly travel, and this is it: Surrey outwards into Hampshire, north through Berkshire and the Thames Valley, and into south-west London. If you are just past the edge of the list, ring and ask.

Surrey

Home ground. The studio is on Dogflud Way in Farnham, so Guildford, Chobham, Byfleet and Oxshott are a short run and a site visit is never a logistical event. Plenty of the housing here is Victorian, Edwardian or 1930s, which means back-addition bathrooms, awkward stacks and the sort of layout problem that rewards being drawn before it is built.

Hampshire

West and south from Farnham: Alton, Hartley Wintney, Hook, Chineham and down into Winchester. A mix of village cottages with low ceilings and newer estate housing with generous but badly arranged en-suites — two very different design problems, both common.

Berkshire & the Thames

North through Ascot, Windsor and Wokingham, and along the river to Marlow and Henley. Larger houses, more often whole-house programmes than a single room, and frequently a principal en-suite that has to be co-ordinated with the bedroom it opens off.

Chelsea, Kensington, Fulham and Twickenham. Flats and period terraces where access, parking and noise hours shape the programme as much as the design does — which is exactly why the sequence is planned before anybody turns up with a skip.
